BLAENLLAIN ZETA'S DREAM
8 y.o 14.3
/15hh bay mare.
Sire: Zidjian,
16.1hh black Swedish Warmblood.
Dam: Neat
& Trim, 15.2hh Chestnut T.B.
Neat
& Trim had been shown successfully as Hack, before I purchased
her
she also had a huge jump. I put Neat & trim in foal to the well
breed stallion Zidjian, in the same year that I competed him BSJA for
his owners. He had a lovely laid back temperament and huge jump, which
thankfully Zeta has inherited both. Once Zeta was born, we travelled
her and her mother up to Morton Morel for grading, resulting in Zeta
being awarded Pink Papers by the British Warm-blood Society. Out only
slight disappointment in Zeta was
her size, I was hoping she would make approx 15.2 to 16hh, but she
stopped at around 14.3 to 15hh which is still big enough for Tina and
myself to enjoy. She is defiantly a small horse rather than a big pony.
As Zeta has a very good depth to her girth we always felt that she
would make a lovely brood mare and may well through offspring bigger
than herself.
We competed successfully with Zeta as 1 &
2 y o, in
SHP classes including been 2 nd , 2 years running at the Midlands
National in hand show. She also took Reserve Champion at the West Wales
Winter show. Since than she always taken the back seat as we were
limited to what we could show her in and we wanted to concentrate more
on the PBA & WPB,s
Zetas half sister, Zindara (by Zidjian) won 25 dressage points in 4
outings, Zindara was twice the highest placed mare in the Prevac
Pro. She was advertised for sale throught the Horse & Hound
(14th June 2001) as a Potential International Dressage Horse for
offers in excess of £20,000.
Tina's enjoyed doing 10 / 20 m Social rides on Zeta and I
decided to teach myself to ride side saddle on her. She takes it all in
her stride. She is expecting her first foal, which is to Bart and this
will also be his 1 st foal to be born, so we are all waiting excitedly.
On 8th of May 2007, at around 2am Zeta had her 1st foal, which was also
“Blaenllain Doodleba’s” first foal, a lovely bay
filly. When ZETA’S foal was first-born ZETA really
didn’t know what to make of her baby. Her eyes were out on
storks and she and kept squealing at her baby every time she moved and
the milk bar was defiantly closed. After some persuasion through
the night and following day mother started to bond with her baby and is
now a fantastic proud mother. This filly reminds us a lot
of Bart when he was a baby she has a very similar head to him and also
has his substance. She’s also inherited his lovable
character. She is called BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBA SUPREME (BUGSY)
We collected from BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBA (BART) inseminated ZETA and like LADY she took first time and on the
20th May 2008, ZETA gave birth to a lovely dark brown/bay colt foal, BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBA (LENNY)
this time ZETA natural motherly instincts were with her from the start
and she is a fantastic mum. She has been re inseminated to
BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBA, to foal in 2009.
LENNY is for sale and an offer has been made on him.
