On leaving school sister “Tina” worked for some top class pony studs & ridden showing yards both in Wales & Ireland, including the Towy Valley Pony Stud learning the art of plaiting and producing horses for the showring, following on from that Tina worked with the Team Spencer Show Ponies in Northern Ireland before she went on to join the Armed Services.
After some serious changes in their family circumstances Tina left the forces and came home. Together with Mandy’s partner Wayne, they all eventually moved to their present address and now live in a very peaceful area about 4 miles from the coast, surrounded by beautiful views.
Tina and Mandy have very different expectations form a horse but couldn’t really afford one each. Tina enjoys in-hand showing & social rides etc while Mandy enjoys competing under saddle & show jumping etc. Looking at things in the long term they decided to combine their talents and see if they could breed their ideal horse, resulting in what they breed & show case on this web site today.
Mandy says ‘It is down to Tina that all the horses are plaited so beautifully, to be fair to her she does all the plaiting and most of the producing on show/competition day, as well all as 1001 other jobs that go with the territory. She is nearly always up before me on show day by at least an hour, as I have the driving to do. Its all about great teamwork ‘
Tina has a Certificate of Attendance in Stallion Semen Collection Course.
My long suffering partner! His idea of horse and horse power has 2 wheels and a powerful engine. That said, he sold his bike after our children were born, but I can always see the glint in his eye when he hears the thud of a Twin, or the week of the TT races. I’m waiting for the day to come home to meet another woman in his life, well it will have to have a side car for our children, could be a good look! His other passions include fishing, shooting, training and working our lovely group of Labradors.
Wayne is a member of the Kennel Club Assured Breeders scheme and has the affix WILARKLODGE, specialising in breeding our beautiful Labradors’. We breed the occasional litter which we commit a lot of time and money to and are rewarded by producing happy litters of puppies that give our family hours of fun before going to their new homes. Our fur kids are fantastic pets ans companions and have gone on as PAT, Care, agility and Flyball to a high level.
Although horses are not his first interest, Wayne is often the one that’s up through the night checking mare’s that are due to foal. He is always on hand to do maintenance and repairs and anything that needs doing including keeping my lorry going. Without Wayne we could not do what we do, Thanks hun x

My darling son, the most special little boy in my life. He loves all animals and is so sweet and patient with them. He adores playing with the puppies and is probably more in to the dogs with his Daddy than the horses, although he takes his job of spook training and entertaining the horses very seriously. Noisy toys, tractors on noisy plastic wheels, trailers, footballs you name it, as long as it makes a noise he’s whizzing up and down in front of the horses on it, They now have nerve of steel! He loves collecting the eggs from his chickens and mucking them out etc and helping Vernon do jobs.
my beautiful daughter, the most special little girl of my life. For all of those of you that are close to me and know my daughter need is say more! She has character, as people often come up to me and say. Petrina is definitely more into the horse than Kien, she is very determined and knows her own mind. Most of our horses are used to her sitting on them, then having the screaming abjabs when you try and remove her from said horse. They are all very tolerant of her and put their head down to have a nose stroke, before she makes off with their whiskers in her hand. Bart is a regular choice for her entertainment to first sit on then deafen when you try and remove her. Kien sits on them quietly, stroking their neck enjoying the warmth from their body, Petrina is not quiet so peaceful, she wants them moving, using her voice in no uncertain terms “WALK”
Both my children are regular helpers in the stables (supervised) among the horses, again proving the huge importance of temperament and common scene in our animals.
